About Us
Our Story: Resilience, Ribs, and the Road to Recovery
My name is Shelton Landon, and this restaurant is more than a business to me—it’s my second chance. At 63 years old, my journey has been one of unexpected turns.
In 2017, my life was changed forever when I was shot point-blank with a .45 caliber handgun. The attack left me in a coma for 10 days and with lifelong challenges, including the loss of a kidney and spleen, severe nerve damage, and PTSD.
But out of that darkness, I found a renewed purpose. I poured every ounce of my energy into my lifelong passion: crafting authentic, soulful BBQ. This food is a celebration of resilience and family recipes passed down through generations.
As a proud person-of-color and disabled-owned business, we are honored to share our heritage and our story with the Anchorage community. Every plate we serve is a testament to the healing power of good food and the strength to overcome. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
